Restorative Dentistry

Fillings, veneers, crowns “caps,” implants, partials and dentures are all part of restorative dentistry. And restorative dentistry can involve the filling of just a single tooth or the restoration of the entire mouth. We take great care in every restoration, from a simple filling to the most complex full mouth reconstruction.

Non-Metal Fillings

Composite resin filling materials have been a mainstay in our restorative and cosmetic procedures for over 20 years. When proper technique is employed, bonded composite fillings can actually strengthen the tooth versus just plugging holes. And it looks good too.

Crowns

When decay or damage to the surface of a tooth becomes significant, the tooth can be reduced and a custom-made tooth bonded or cemented to its surface. This restoration is called a crown or cap. The many types of porcelain and zirconia crowns are fashioned in a United States certified dental laboratory by trained technicians to provide a strong tooth with a natural appearance. The color of the crown is carefully matched to the color of your natural teeth by using digital photography and Shade Wave computer software.

Dr. Freeman will discuss your options for restorations with you after an initial examination.

Bridges

A dental bridge is a common method of replacing missing teeth. Bridges consist of one or more false teeth that are held in place by crowns that are attached to the surrounding teeth. Bridges can be made with a gold alloy substructure or can be made with metal free ceramics or zirconia.

Bridges can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile by replacing missing teeth. The materials used to create the bridge are made to match the color of your natural teeth, while providing strong structural support.

The teeth next to the empty space will be reduced in order to receive the crown portion of the bridge. Then, an impression will be taken of the whole area (the missing area and the two teeth next to it).

This impression is then sent to a lab, and a bridge is custom-designed to fit the area. Just as with the placement of a crown, a temporary bridge will be put in place to protect your teeth and gum while the restoration is being constructed.

We may provide you with a "flipper" or "Essix"  appliance in place of a temporary bridge depending on the situation.

Partial & Full Dentures

Full Dentures

A full denture replaces a full arch of teeth.  Conventional full dentures are removable, but new advancements have allowed practitioners to anchor your full denture using dental implant posts, clips or bonding materials.

While nothing can perfectly replace your natural teeth, new advancements in denture technology have made dentures more comfortable and stable than ever before.

Removable Partial Dentures

We also offer removable partial dentures for areas of your mouth where teeth have been lost or extracted. These are held in place by metal or plastic clasps that affix to surrounding teeth.

Removable partial dentures serve as an alternative to fixed partial dentures (bridges) or dental implants.  They can help to restore aesthetics and function to areas with several missing teeth.

From the time you walk in, until you leave Dr. Freeman and his staff treat you with respect. I throughly enjoy everyone there and would recommend them highly. Having gone to other dentists I am happy to say Dr. Freeman will be the only dentist I go to. I like his attitude, he tells you what you need to hear, rather than what you want to hear....his knowledge base is amazing. He's very fair, you can tell he loves his job. When you don't see him and are dealing with another member of his staff, they are extremely nice, funny and care about what they do. There is really no better choice, you'd be wasting your time trying to find another dentist office to compete with Dr. Freeman and his staff!
