Cosmetic Dentist for Hood River, OR

We understand, for many folks, looks are important. Advancements in cosmetic ”esthetic” dentistry can allow you to get the results you want without compromising function and longevity. Dr. Pat Freeman has been one of five accredited members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in Oregon since 1989. In that time, he’s brightened a lot of smiles and improved a lot of lives.

Smile Design

Crafting a pleasing smile that allows proper form and function takes time and experience. At our office, we help you achieve your perfect smile by evaluating tooth position, rotation, length, shape, color and gum position. In some cases, custom prototypes, personally made by Dr. Freeman, are made from waxed dental models to give you a sneak preview of your artistically designed smile. With proven techniques and materials, the fabrication of a natural looking temporary restoration allows Dr. Freeman and the patient achieve the final desired outcome.

Veneers

Veneers are ultra thin porcelain laminates that are bonded to existing teeth. They’re great options when you wish to change the shape or color of your teeth. We can even use ¾” type veneers to strengthen your filling-laden front teeth.

Truth be known, Dr. Pat Freeman had, himself, proudly worn veneers on his teeth from 1987 to 2002. It was at that point Dr. Freeman had a full-mouth reconstruction done to improve his own tooth strength and proper bite relationship. When your dentist understands the benefits, so should you.

Teeth Whitening

We offer Teeth Whitening procedures to help eliminate discoloration and give you a brighter, more attractive smile.

Most often, stains have gotten deep below the outermost layer of the tooth.   Whitening removes the deeply rooted stains and restores your teeth to their natural white color.  Over-the-counter products, such as whitening toothpastes, remove only surface stains.

Whitening procedures are not a solution for all discoloration (e.g. darkening caused by cavities). Similarly, whitening does not work on all stains. Your dentist will discuss your options for care with you.  Some cases, that are not appropriate for whitening procedures, can be effectively treated with restorative options.

Dental Implants

Implants are revolutionizing the way dentists approach fixing teeth. Dr. Freeman has been placing implants since 2007.

What was once a “save the tooth by any means” approach has now shifted to replacing missing and questionable teeth with implants when appropriate, and as an option. Stronger and often longer lasting than previous tooth salvaging procedures, implants are almost like real teeth in that their titanium "roots" are fused to the jawbone. What makes them different is that they allow for the addition of a crown, bridge or other dental attachments, that will never decay or require a root canal.
